Current skincare/beauty summer favourites.
Hi and welcome back to my blog!
So recently during the months of July and August I have picked up a few new items and here's a few that I have taken a fancy for.
First things first is a product that has been in the market for a while and yet again I am behind getting it.Now even after using it for only a week and a half I have seen clear and fast changes to my skin which is great. Now overall I have combination skin with oily patches on my forehead and my chin and sensitive patches and dry patches around my nose and cheeks. However after using this product in the mornings and evenings my skin has been appearing more moisturised and glowing and just appearing more healthy overall. Also sometimes after using this product in the mornings my skin appears that healthy that I only apply concealer and mascara which is great for summer.
The thing I love the most about this product is definitely the smell ;it just has such a minty, refreshing and fresh scent that wakes up your skin.
For a 100ml bottle of the product and two reusable muslin cloths the price was just £20.00 which was a big splash out at first for me as I'm such a bargain hunter but after using it for just a week and seeing amazing results I can just about put up with the price and would defiantly recommend it to anyone who is quite lazy with their skincare routine and just wants to apply two products and be done with it!
Another product I picked up is more of a makeup item under the brand Manhattan that I have never really heard of before. This product was at a reasonable price and has really nice results.
It came with two blushes;a pinky one and a more coral one and a highlighter with no shimmer. The two blushes are very pigmented and when applied heavily look dreadful therefore only small amounts are needed to give a natural tint to your cheeks. I Have particularly been using the more coral shaded blush as I feel as its starting to transition into autumn however is still summer time is the perfect colour paired with the non shimmery highlighter that will be very flattering in winter time.
So if you can get your hands on this definitely do so!
Next is another beauty item and some of you who know me well may know that I have a huge obsession with lipsticks and there packaging-don't ask why I just do.
Now I actually purchased this lipstick when Rimmel
first of all released it at the start of summer, partly because of the packaging and the smell of the lipstick that drew me to it. Luckily this lipstick looks good, smells good and has a really nice colour pay off. This lipstick is part of the nude collection released by Rimmel which also stocks matching nude nail varnish as well. In this collection they released a range of shades of nudes from lighter to darker nudes to match your skin tone instead if the bob standard light nude that would not be as appealing on someone with dark skin.
I picked up the shade 43 which I think is in the middle of the spectrum and appears to be darker than the lighter versions and more of an apricot shade which suits my skin tone a lot more. I believe that these products are still available so get yourself down to your nearest drugstore and just admire the packaging and give them a whiff - not weird at all Courtney.
Now back onto the skincare kind of genre is a much cheaper in price product compared to the first favourite .On average this moistouriser is ranged from £1.00 to £2.00 and honestly is the best moisturiser I have had so far. Not only does it do what it says on the tin,or should I say bottle, it is multipurpose and can not only moisturise your face but also your body and hands and if you know me well enough you will know my biggest pet peeve is having dry hands However when this bad boy is around my nightmares never come true,i always apply this before bed and in the morning before makeup as well as during the day and it's my saviour to be honest !
Here is another quite high priced skincare product just like Liz Earle however luckily I got this FREE yes free ,it looks to be a full sized product for a free sample. There is actually a funny story about this which I'm sure my chummy will understand but if you do want to hear that let me know.
Anyway back onto the product, once again it does what it says on the product which is good to know.,it tackles all areas if dry skin and leaves them feeling hydrated and appear less dry. I apply this after doing my Liz Earle treatment and leave it on the dry areas of my skin for 3 minutes and then just wipe off and carry on with the rest of my skincare and I have been noticing that I have been gaining less acne in the dry areas of my face and irritation which is pretty good for a FREE product.
Due to this product coming from what is known to be a high quality brand I would presume it is around the price of £20.00 however once again even though this is a high price for just a skincare
product it is really worth it.
If you are unsure about any products for your skin I would recommend you visiting your nearest boots store and just ask the Estée Lauder team for samples to try beforehand etc.
Once again this product passes the smell test.
WOOP WOOP!!
And last but not least is a dirt cheap product that is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G
This product costed me £1.00 and I believe it's still on special offer in boots and Asda at this price and good old garnier have got their product to do what it says on the bottle.
Due to my skin being combination and sensitive in some areas I were quite nervous about using this
product in case it irritated my skin however I was defiantly wrong as it removed a full face of makeup on one cotton pad within seconds and you can see all the grime and muck off your face even when you don't wear makeup it's crazy!
If you would like me to do a video to show you the results etc of this product then please let me know as I am happy to do so!
So guys thats a few of my favourite beauty items I have been using this summer and that I recommend you all having a look at!
Once again if you would like me to do any videos covering any of these products in more depth then do let me know or if you have any ideas on videos or blog posts for the future then be sure to let me know too!
